Naked Fiction

What is Naked Fiction?

What is naked fiction?  Well, naked fiction is the term I have chosen to apply to my writing.

Naked fiction is fiction in which the concept of being naked, usually in situations where one would not expect to be naked or find naked people, figures prominently.

Naked fiction is Best Friends With a Naked Girl; a story about an exhibitionist with plenty of sexy parts that is also a queer coming-of-age love story.

Naked fiction is Brave Nude World; a story about a woman with a vibrant and enjoyable sex life who explores a newfound interest in exhibitionism, that is also an exploration on how a society with legalised public nudity might adapt to the resultant social change.

Naked fiction is not (just) erotic fiction. There is often a strong erotic element to naked fiction and there are deliberately exciting depictions of sexual situations. But there are also explorations of non-sexual and social nudity, and the term naked fiction allows for a wider variety of story types than erotica.

Naked fiction is not naturist fiction. Naturism is the non-sexual act of men and women together going without clothes to socialise and to benefit their physical and mental health. Naked fiction celebrates the same positive attitude towards non-sexual nudity but it also allows that nakedness can be sexual either for the naked person or for those observing or reading or thinking about it.

Naked fiction is body-positive. Naked fiction does not present one type of body as ideal. Naked fiction is intended to give the message that however your body appears, you can enjoy nakedness and feel good doing it. Naked fiction is intended to give the message that enjoying your body and sexuality and learning to feel confident in yourself is more important than looking a certain way. Naked fiction believes every body is beautiful naked.

Naked fiction is sex-positive. Naked fiction will not tell you prudishly that sex is shameful or dirty. Naked fiction recognises that women have the right to choose to enjoy as much or as little sex as they want. Naked fiction recognises that kinks and fetishes exist and as long as they are conducted between consenting adults, there is nothing wrong with that. Naked fiction recognises that sex workers are valid and have the right to choose to earn money from their bodies in the way that is best for them, naked fiction will not exclude sex workers from enjoying non-sexual nakedness because they have chosen to monetise their bodies and sexuality. Naked fiction will not punish people for enjoying sex.

Naked fiction values consent. Naked fiction recognises that sexual behaviour towards someone who is not consenting has the potential to do harm. Naked fiction supports #metoo. Naked fiction believes women. Naked fiction values consent and respect above all things.

Naked fiction is inclusive. Naked fiction supports heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality and asexuality and all in between. Naked fiction recognises queer identities and trans identities. Naked fiction recognises that gender is a spectrum. Naked fiction believes in respecting a person’s chosen gender identity and does not exclude them from loving their body and celebrating nakedness because of that.

Naked fiction is attention seeking. Naked fiction pushes nudity to the forefront of its themes. Naked fiction is not ashamed of celebrating and championing the beauty and power of nakedness. Naked fiction explores themes of naked people connecting and interacting with the wider world. Naked fiction doesn’t stay in its bedroom, naked fiction walks down the street clothes-free. Naked fiction understands the titillation and excitement caused by nudity and does not hide from that. Naked fiction understands nudity is taboo, but naked fiction also relishes in confronting and subverting that taboo.

Naked fiction is fun. Naked fiction doesn’t take itself too seriously. Naked fiction doesn’t seek to change the world, naked fiction just wants to entertain.

Naked fiction is fantasy. Naked fiction can be anything it wants to be.
