Frequently Asked Questions

How can I find all the books you have published?

How can I find all the short stories you have published?

You haven't written anything for ages? What's up with that?

I've been really busy! I write for fun in my spare time, but I also do a lot of other stuff, and that's taken over a little over the past couple of years. But I am still writing and aim to have new short stories out in 2023, and am also mid-way through writing another book

Who draws your book covers?

The illustrator who drew the covers for the Becky & Lisa books, and Brave Nude World, is Danielle Fenner but online they often go by CYNVII. Their main site is here. If you choose to approach them because you have seen their work on my book covers, please be respectful towards them.

The covers of my other books were created by myself. I drew the covers of both Sophie and The Tribulations of Omega Girl.

Can I pay you to write me a story?

While I would love to be the sort of writer who works on commission, I’m just not that great at it. Also any time I spend writing a story privately for one person is time away from writing the stories and novels that I publish for everyone. So I’m sorry, but I won’t be accepting any commissions for fiction.

I was a fan of an older story that you wrote and it has now disappeared, what has happened to it?

Some of the stories that later became Best Friends with a Naked Girl were still around on the internet when the novel was published and apparently had quite devoted fans (despite not being very good in my opinion!). Some of the earliest versions of these have since been removed, ostensibly so I have a ‘tidy house’ in my online fiction profile. I have not deleted the final versions of these stories, just the early work-in-progress versions (specifically, those written with Lisa as a first-person narrator).

If you are missing those stories, I still have copies and if you would like to have a copy sent to you by email, you are welcome to get in touch.

I would like to draw fan art of your work, or write a story using your characters or concepts. Can I do this?

I’m pretty happy for anyone who has been inspired by my work to such an extent that they want to produce something of their own based on it to do so, provided I receive acknowledgement as the author of the characters and of the work which inspired it. Also please send it to me when you are done, because it flatters my ego.

What does the ‘A D’ stand for?

I don’t know.  A D Rowen is a pen name I chose, I always intended to have initials on my book covers instead of a first name, and the letters A and D seemed to go together. I never gave much thought to what they might represent though.

Are you male or female? How old are you? Where are you from?

I identify as male. I'm in my thirties. I'm from England

Are you a naturist/nudist?

Broadly, yes. I do identify as a naturist but I am also aware that the sexual element of my writing, and the way it presents nudity (especially by young women) as titillating to the reader is at odds with naturist philosophy, which is about non-sexual nudity, so I do keep a certain amount of space between my fiction and my practises and beliefs about naturism.

Are you an exhibitionist? Do you have sex, or expose yourself, in public?

I would not identify myself as an exhibitionist, and my sex life is conducted in private. To be honest I find male exhibitionism problematic, as it can involve a man exposing his genitals to a woman who has not consented to be involved in acting out his sexual fantasy, which can be interpreted as a sexual assault or act of sexual violence, and cause distress and trauma. This is not cool with me.

However in my teens I experimented with public nudity as a sexual experience in a way that as far as I am aware never harmed, or had the potential to harm, anyone else. I enjoyed these experiences and they have informed some elements of my writing.
